About Us
In early 2003, I was approached by a friend who was in desperate need of a new computer. He asked me to build him one because he knew about my degree and certifications in computer technology plus he didn’t know how or where to purchase computer parts and didn’t want to spend a lot of money.
My friend didn’t know anything about computers other than how to turn it on, browse the web and check his email. When I proposed the idea of him building the computer himself, the idea both astonished and frightened him.
When I told him how easy it truly is to build a computer and how much cheaper it is compared to buying a pre-built computer through a company like Dell or from a local store, he accepted the challenge and, with my help, built his very first computer.
A few months passed and another friend approached me with the same question. I helped her build her own computer as well. Less than a week after that, she approached me again to tell me how amazed her family was at her accomplishment and to tell me her parents wanted HER to build them a new computer! Long story short, she used the notes she took when I helped her to successfully build them a new computer.
It’s because of this I decided to form Cheap Computers and Parts. I wanted to reach out and help as many people as I could. I not only wanted to teach people, regardless of their computer background and knowledge, how to build a computer, but also show them how and where to purchase the best computer parts for the least amount of money.
Over the years, Cheap Computers and Parts grew from a site that got less than a hundred visitors a month to a site that gets hundreds of visitors a day. We’ve helped hundreds of people build their very own computer and with our recent site upgrades, plan on helping hundreds more.
