Step 1: What to Look For
When looking for a keyboard and mouse, unless you want some special functions, you can get just about any cheap keyboard and mouse to get the job done.
Most motherboards have PS/2 and USB ports for the keyboard and mouse. We can get them in either format so unless you plan on using up all your USB slots, get whichever format is cheaper.
Step 2: Finding a Keyboard and Mouse
Let's navigate to the keyboard section. It's usually found under the input devices section:
Computer Hardware List --> Input Devices --> Keyboards or Mouse --> Interface (PS/2 or USB)

Here are several tips to consider before purchasing a keyboard and/or mouse:
- Ask your friends and family or ask around at work, you can usually find someone that has an extra mouse and/or keyboard you can have for free.
- Use your old keyboard and mouse. Chances are they work perfectly fine as is. Why upgrade when you don't need to.
